Apurva Purohit awarded the most powerful women in business

New Delhi [India], Sept. 24 (ANI): President of Jagran Publications Apurva Purohit has recently been declared as one of the most powerful women in business' by Business Today magazine.

The prestigious award was presented by Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani at a power packed event held in Mumbai.

Purohit played a pivotal role in merging Radio City with the Jagran group.

Under her leadership, Radio City not only scaled up from the four station company to 20 stations last year but also became one of the largest and the most profitable FM stations in the country.

Speaking about the honor Purohit said, "The perception of media businesses is largely linked to the entertainment they provide and not as serious platforms that create and nurture thought leadership, strong business acumen and great places to work."

Adding, "This award is a validation that recognizes the efforts the media and entertainment businesses are taking to grow as respected, corporate entities." (ANI)
