New Delhi, Aug 15 (ANI
): Reacting strongly to Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit's statement dedicating Pakistan's Independence day to the cause of Kashmir's "freedom", the Janata Dal (United) has said that the incident was unprecedented in diplomacy and added that the former be declared persona non grata.
"I cannot understand how the envoy of country in India can make a statement which is about a portion of India seceding from India, it is unprecedented in diplomacy. I think he should be declared persona non grata," JD (U) leader Pawan Verma
Lauding the Ministry of External Affairs for giving a befitting reply to Pakistan regarding their offer to send supplies for the Kashmir unrest, Verma said "I think our MEA is finally calling a spade a spade. I think, they have understood the reality of Pakistan and I am glad they have conveyed a strong message to them."
MEA's official spokesperson, Vikas Swarup, in a strongly worded statement said "India and others in the region have already received enough of Pakistan's trademark exports-International, terrorism, cross-border infiltrations, weapons, narcotics and fake currency. We completely and categorically reject this purported communication from the Pakistan Foreign Ministry." (ANI
