SC tells Bhim Singh, 'You can't criticise J-K govt. sitting in Delhi'

New Delhi [India], Aug. 26 (ANI): While hearing National Panther Party's ( NPP) Public Interest Litigation seeking imposition of Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir due to unrest in the state, the Supreme Court on Friday told party chief Bhim Singh to go to the valley and give a status report on the condition of schools, hospitals etc and on the suffering of the people

The apex court pulled up Singh, saying he cannot criticize the state government's attempts while sitting in New Delhi.

"If you are so concerned, you should visit Kashmir and have a first-hand info over ground reality," the Supreme Court told Singh.

The next hearing in the case will take place after two weeks.

The National Panthers Party moved the top court, saying that the court should intervene in the interest of the security in the state and the safety of its citizens.

As many as 65 people have been killed and thousands, including security forces, left injured in protest-related violence triggered by the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani by security forces on July 8. (ANI)
