Srinagar, July 11 (ANI): With the valley on the boil following protests over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, a grenade attack on CRPF troop in Nowhatta, Srinagar resulted in three jawans getting injured.

The attack targeted a troop of 28 Bn CRPF who were deployed in the area. The injured jawans were immediately rushed to the SMHS hospital in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar.

Last month, eight CRPF personnel were martyred and 24 were injured in the major ambush by two terrorists, who were neutralised in the encounter in Pampore.

The attack was the fourth one on the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in June, as at least 17 security personnel were killed and several others injured in the last three major strikes along the Jammu-Srinagar Highway during that period. (ANI)
