Four Maoists killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), July 16 (ANI): At least four Maoists of the Pamed area committee were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Pipe bombs and other Naxal materials were seized from the slain Maoists' posession.

A joint security forces led by Laxman Kewat, TI, Awapalli, and Cobra Commander Ashok Kumar carried out the encounter.

Combined forces comprising DEF, DRG, Cobra, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Task Force (STF) have been on a long range patrol operating since July 14.

The operation would further continue. More forces are being dispatched to cordon off the area. (ANI)
