Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir),[India] Oct. 27 (ANI): At least six civilians were injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in R.S. Pura sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

According to reports, the Pakistani Rangers started unprovoked shelling targeting Indian posts and civilian areas in Arnia area of R.S. Pura around 9 p.m. yesterday.

Later, they also started heavy shelling in Ramgarh area of adjoining Samba sector and other areas of R.S. Pura.

The BSF retaliated the shelling and gave befitting reply.

Heavy exchange of gunfire between the border forces of both the countries is still continuing in Sai, Treva, Bidipur, Joda, Arnia, SM Pur, Chanliyal etc.

In the wake of escalated tension and continuing shelling, the border people have been asked not to venture out of their houses and take all precautionary measures.

Border people have been shifting to safer places, while no causalities have been reported yet.

Multiple ceasefire violations have been reported along the International Border and Line of Control after India conducted surgical strikes across the border in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to target staging areas for terrorists last month.

Pakistan has, however, denied the cross-border raids. (ANI)
