Bhiwani (Haryana)[India], Nov 3 (ANI): Mortal remains of retired Army jawan, Ram Kishan Grewal, who committed suicide over the One Rank One Pension (OROP) issue, were consigned to flames on Thursday as his last rites were perfumed at his native village here.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi along with leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kamal Nath, Kiran Choudhry and Shailaja attended the cremation. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also present during the last rites of Ram Kishan.

Grewal had allegedly consumed poison on Tuesday. However, the cause behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained.

The 69-year-old former jawan was protesting over the OROP issue at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi when he committed suicide on Tuesday.

The suicide plunged the capital into chaos yesterday with the police detaining and releasing Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and Rahul Gandhi. (ANI)
