The Indian Armed Forces have been aptly retaliating to the heavy firing initiated by the Pakistani Rangers.
As per the police, Pakistan is using long-range 120-mm mortar shells and the Indian Army is giving a befitting reply.
The exchange of fire still continues.
Today's ceasefire takes place two days after two soldiers were killed and five others, including two women, were injure
d in the Pir Panjal Valley's Poonch district on Sunday.
Soldiers posted in Krishna Ghati first spotted the movement of militants around 2 a.m.
"Two infiltration bids, assisted by Pakistani ceasefire violations, were foiled in the Krishna Ghati sector. One soldier was kill
ed," said a spokesman of the Northern Command.
Sources said the militants fled back into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as the Pakistan Army continued covering fire till 4 a.m.
More than 100 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops have had happened so far, following India's surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC) on September 29. (ANI
