): While chairing the third high-level meeting to discuss the condition of air pollution in the national capital on Friday, Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Najeeb Jung
directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Delhi Police to ensure strict implementation of the Delhi
Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) guidelines by construction sites and penalise the violators.
He constituted a committee of three municipal commissioners to work out a comprehensive plan for cleanliness and to check unauthorised construction in the city, adding that those failing to pay challans would be heavily penalised and their work would be stopped
Lauding the efforts of the concerned agencies, the L-G
said, "The action taken by all agencies has resulted in improved ambient air quality. They must keep up their efforts. PM 2.5 levels have come down by 1/4th and PM 10 levels have come down by 1/3rd." (ANI
