New Delhi, Sept. 22 (ANI
): The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the Madhya Pradesh government's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) counselling conducted during 2016-17 admission for various undergraduate private medical colleges examinations.
A five-judge bench, headed by Justice Anil R. Dave, took the decision of cancelling the NEET
counselling after the hearing a detailed argument from various respondents and petitioners.
The apex court said that Madhya Pradesh
government did not follow the Centre's notification while conducting the counseling for the colleges.
The Supreme Court
gave instructions to the colleges to conduct a fresh counseling and instructed the state government to strictly follow the rules and regulations laid down by the Central government and statute.
The top court also observed that the private colleges did not follow the Centers notification in connection with the counselling of private medical undergraduate courses. (ANI
