Budget session of J-K Assembly to begin today

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Jan. 2 (ANI): The budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will begin today.

The session will begin with Governor N. N. Vohra's address to a joint sitting of the legislature and end on February 4.

Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu will present the budget on January 9. It will be the third budget of this government.

The session is expected to be stormy with opposition National Conference and Congress making it clear that they will corner the BJP-PDP Government over the months-long unrest in the Valley, the move to give identity cards to the Hindu refugees, shelling on Pakistan border and terror attacks. (ANI)

NPPA slashes knee implant cost by 70 per cent

New Delhi [India], August 17 (ANI): A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of India's 71st Independence Day of bringing down the prices of knee surgery, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar said that National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the selling price of knee implants from Rs. 54,000 to Rs. 1.14 lakh, depending on the type of transplant, which means nearly 70 per cent lower than most of the surgeries' cost.
