Bangladesh PM Hasina assures homes for poor, destitute free of cost

Dhaka [Bangladesh], Oct.22 (ANI): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that her government will build homes for the poor and the destitute free of cost.

Hasina, during her 40-minute speech at the inaugural session of the Awami League's 20th national council, highlighted her government's development activities in various sectors, including health, education, ICT, health, agriculture, taken for the welfare of the people the highlighted the her government's development activities in various sectors, including health, education, ICT, health, agriculture, taken for the welfare of the people.

Urging Awami League leaders and workers to take oaths to stamp out poverty from Bangladesh, she asked them to make lists of poor in their respective areas for their rehabilitation so they could live with dignity.

The Dhaka Tribune quoted Hasina speaking to party workers as, "Make lists of the poor, age-old, disable people of your area who are living without any shelter and livelihood. We will give them home without cost and take measures so that they can live with the dignity of human beings."

She stated that by 2041, her party wants to build a Bangladesh where there will be no poverty.

The Premier said, "The growth will be 8% to 10% and poverty will came down to zero percent."

" Awami League is an organisation of people. It is our duty to ensure the welfare of people. There will be no poverty if we can ensure the welfare of people. It is our commitment that there will be no poverty in the country," Hasina said.

The first session of the council came to an end with her speech. (ANI)
