Rihanna to kickstart MTV Video Music Awards

Washington D.C.[USA], Aug. 27 (ANI): Along with receiving the Video Vanguard award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, superstar singer Rihanna will also be opening the show with a special performance.

According to a People Magazine report, the 'Daimond' hit-maker wrote on Instagram "Kickin Awf the @MTV #VMAsthis Sunday at 9PM ET/PT!, Thank you for creating this -- in honor of the #VMAs2016 era @pandagunda! #RiRiVanguard."

She posted the message with a 'Canvas Spot' created by Swedish visual artist Panda Gunda, who has also helmed the VMA promos.

?The show's executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic earlier told that Rihanna would be performing a medley running through "the biggest tracks of her career."

"I can tell you it's going to be one of those holy crap VMA moments ... She's not playing. She's bringing it," he said.

Riri is also nominated in four categories including best female video for "Work" featuring Drake, best male video as a featured act on Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For" and twice in best collaboration for the above mentioned duets. (ANI)
