's 'Sultan' may have opened to a thunderous response, but her character, Aarfa, has been facing a lot of backlash for choosing motherhood over career.
Addressing this criticism, the leading lady of 'Sultan' shared a post of former World No. 1 tennis star Victoria Azarenka's pregnancy announcement that well explained her character's decision in the film.
"Wanted to share this for those who couldn't understand Aarfa's decision in Sultan
, maybe this will put things in perspective," she tweeted on Saturday.
Further, the-28-year-old star shared another powerful tweet, saying, "Choosing motherhood over career is empowering. Choosing your career over motherhood is empowering. The Freedom to CHOOSE is empowering."
On a related note, Anushka has a busy year ahead. At present, she has Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil alongside Aishwarya Rai and Ranbir Kapoor and 'Phillauri' in her kitty. (ANI
