Kiran, my mother were worried about my drastic 'fat to fit' change: Aamir Khan

Updated: Nov 29, 2016 11:52 IST

Mumbai [India], Nov. 29 (ANI): Aamir Khan's upcoming flick 'Dangal' will not only be a treat to his fans, but will also work as an inspiration, with his drastic physical transformation, for people who want to achieve something in life.

But the drastic change in weight to portray the character of wrestler Mahavir Singh worried his wife and mother as losing extreme weight is a short period of time takes a toll on one's health.

"Kiran (Rao) and my mother were worried about my health (which underwent extreme transformation in a short period of time). I was only worried about my character in the movie. I was not thinking about my health," he told media here, when asked on the same.

This morning, the makers of the film UTV Motion Pictures posted a five-minute video on their Facebook profile, which documented the 51-year-old actor's change from 97 kilos to his six packs.

"Watch the full video of Aamir Khan's body transformation from 97 kgs to six packs for # Dangal here. #AamirKhanFatToFit," the makers captioned the video.

The video, along with his rigorous work-out, showed Aamir sharing his thoughts on the same.

He said, "Putting on the weight was fun. I could eat and drink whatever I wanted and have a great time. I have to say I had a ball. But it was also most uncomfortable. Even my wrestling training was affected. I was carrying so much weight that I could not really move faster."

Further in the video, while giving reasons to why he did not wear bodysuit instead of undergoing such transformation, the actor proved himself Mr. Perfectionist yet again, "Bodysuit would not have been that fun. I would have looked fat but would not have that feeling of being one. I would not have had fun as an actor with a body suit."

"Your breathing changes when you put on weight. The whole body language changes- the way you walk, move, sit and stand up," he continued.

The 'PK' star added, "Initially I felt it was impossible for me to lose weight as I was 97 kilo with 38 percent body fat. I felt I had taken up an impossible challenge."

Aamir, while speaking to media, also shared that he would keep a special screening of Mahavir Singh's family and two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar, adding that Sushil's physique was the goal he targeted to achieve while losing weight.

"We will keep a special screening for Geeta, Babita and Mahavir Ji's family. As soon as the film is ready, we will invite them to Mumbai to watch the film. I also want to invite Sushil (Kumar) Ji. He once came to our shooting where I told him that I want to build a body like him. I kept him as a bench mark."

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh and is slated to release on December 23. (ANI)
