Seventh Jagran Film Festival sees host of B-town stars

New Delhi [India], Oct. 3 (ANI): Hundreds of people thronged at the seventh Jagran Film festival to watch their favorite Bollywood and foreign language films and take part in interesting panel discussions.

The cinematic feast on sixth day commenced with a Spanish film 'A Chinese Tale' followed by Turkish movie 'Step By Step', Romanian film 'The Visitor', Spanish film 'Battlefield', Portuguese film 'Chato - The King Of Brazil' and the French film 'The First, The Last' under the World Panorama section.

On the other hand, the Festival paid Homage to Actor Saeed Jaffrey by screening the Satyajit Ray classic Shatranj Ke Khiladi.

It also celebrated the World Elderly Day by presenting the World Premiere of Vishal Nityanand film 'Life Flows On'.

Talking about Retros/Tributes section, the sixth day also started with V Shantaram's 'Shakuntala' and amazing bunch of Jagran Shorts including 'Iftaar', 'Good- Bye Adam', 'The Cage', 'A Woman In Paris', 'At The Border', 'The Pit', 'Magnificent', Night Painting.

Karan Johar's session on 'Is Bollywood Shutting Down' by Mayank Shekhar witnessed highest footfall in the auditorium.

Not only did it have a packed theatre, but the Question and Answer session with the successful filmmaker and celebrated television host too was a memorable one.

Talking about film studios and budgets, Karan said, "Certain studios are re-strategizing their dynamics and budgets, and I feel it's time for analysis. And I don't think there's anything wrong in it. We all succeed and fail. At least for me, there's no failure but a lesson learnt."

Veteran actor Tom Alter and director Vishal Nityanand were spotted for the World Premiere of 'Life Flows On.'

Known for her penchant for unconventional roles, Richa Chadda spoke candidly to Manoj Srivastava about her acting career, approach to

Cinema and her growth as an actor and her experiences with various Film Directors and their styles of working in a highly charged and informative session about new-age cinema.

The day also had a Workshop 'VFX Today' conducted by Siddharth Iyer of Red Chilies Entertainment on Shahrukh Khan's film 'Fan' for the Festival delegates under the section 'Knowledge Series'. (ANI)
