Melbourne, Aug 5 (ANI
): Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc
has revealed that he is greatly inspired by Wasim Akram
, saying it would be great if he could become half the bowler like the Pakistan legend.
According to Starc, Akram-who was an absolute genius at bowling conventional swing, reverse swing and bowling fast-set the bench mark for all left-arm quicks all across the globe.
The 26-year-old, who claimed his 100th wicket yesterday against Sri Lanka in the second Test at Galle, said it was fantastic to chat with Akram on the couple of occasions he got a chance to work along with, news.com.au reported.
"He's really open and approachable. He's great to talk to about left-arm fast bowling," said the Australian pacer in an interview.
In his magnificent career, the Pakistani legend took 414 wickets in 104 Tests he played. (ANI
