Rio Olympics: Heena Sidhu crashes out of 10m Air Pistol event

Rio de Janerio, Aug 7 (ANI): Indian shooter Heena Sidhu on Sunday failed to qualify for the final of Women's 10 meter Air Pistol event on Day Two of the Rio Olympics here at the Rio de Janerio's Olympic Shooting Complex located in Deodoro Park cluster.

Sidhu finished 14th in the women's 10-metre air pistol event and failed to advance to the final, which is restricted to the top eight in the qualification round.

Heena shot 94, 95, 96 and 95 in her four rounds for an average score of 9.500.

Russian shooters Vitalina Batsarashkina and Ekaterina Korshunova took the top two positions in the qualification round with average scores of 9.750 and 9.675 respectively.

Yesterday, Sidhu's compatriots Ayonika Paul and Apurvi Chandela had also failed to make the final in their 10m air rifle event.

Later, Jitu Rai had made the final in the men's event but could only manage an eighth spot. (ANI)
