): Cameron Bancroft smashed an unbeaten half-century as Australia A
claimed a three-wicket win over India A in the fourth and final day of the first four-day Quadrangular A series game at the Allan Border Field here on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 159 runs, Bancroft struck a 58-run knock, including six boundaries, to propel the Australian side take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match unoffical Test series.
Beau Webster and skipper Peter Handscomb contributed 30 and 24 respectively in the match, which was hit by rain.
For India A
, Shardul Thakur and Varun Aaron shared five wickets between themselves while Hardik Pandya and Jayant Yadav chipped in with a wicket each.
Meanwhile, Handscomb was adjudged `Man of the Match` for his 93-ball 87 runs in the first innings.
The two sides will play their second four-day match, starting at the same venue on Thursday. (ANI
