"This is event where world number six cyclist Sahil had to participate and India was confident of Gold but due to injury in training session, however despite having suffered the loss of a strong payer our team bagged the bronze medal." said RK Sharma, Coach Indian Team.

Earlier, India had put up a commendable show on the opening day of the ongoing cyclist event, bagging a total of six medals, including three golds, two silvers and a bronze.

India's Emerson and P Sanuraj will now play for bronze medal after the qualifier round today. Chun Long Leung and TSZ Chun Law of Hong Kong will be competing with each other for the gold and silver position respectively on Day three of the event.

In the qualifier of the Men Elite Sprint Sprint Event Taiwan's Shih Feng Kang and Shih Hsin Hsiao will compete against each other for the gold and silver position and Iran's Ali Askari and Hassanali will be up against each other for the bronze position at the event tomorrow.

The day two also saw Ranjit Singh hit badly after he couldn't maintain his balance and fell down on track in Sprint of Men Elite Repeachages immediate after completing the final lap.

Following the incident, Ranjit said, "In the last lap, my complete focus was to beat the opponent and you can see the timings (11.622) where I tried my best to beat Iranian Hassanali Varposhti (11.602) and due to this I lost my focus and got injured.
