Rohit inspires Bulls to narrow win over Titans in Pro Kabaddi League

Updated: Jul 06, 2016 12:11 IST

Hyderabad, July 6 (ANI): Bengaluru Bulls came up with an impressive performance to outclass the Telugu Titans 30-28 in the fourth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League here at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium last evening.

Rohit Kumar scored 11 raid points for the Bulls and inspired his team to a huge victory. The Telugu Titans defence made several silly errors and their raiders too had an unimpressive night as they lost in front of their home support.

The Bengaluru Bulls leapfrogged to second spot in the table with 18 points after five games whereas Telugu Titans climbed up to sixth spot with nine points after five games.

Both teams started strongly and traded early punches as Telugu Titans led 3-2 after five minutes. There were as many 11 empty raids in the first 14 minutes as the game was tied 7-7. Bengaluru Bulls then struck through Vinod Kumar who scored two points as they led 10-7 after 15 minutes. The Bulls then inflicted an all-out in the 17th minute as they took a commanding 14-8 lead. But Nilesh Salunke made a two-point raid in the same minute to cut the lead down to four points.

Rohit Kumar had a terrific first half as he scored seven raid points to give his team 16-11 lead at the end of first half. Rahul Chaudhari for Titans made only two successful raids out of eight.

Telugu Titans made a few defensive errors in the first five minutes of the second half as the Bulls led 19-12. Rahul Chaudhari scored his first point of the second half in the 26th minute and followed it up with another in the next minute as Titans trailed 14-20.

Bulls subsequently made a super tackle to lead 22-16. Sandeep Narwal scored two points for Titans with raids but Bengaluru Bulls forced another super tackle in the 36th minute to open an eight-point lead. Rohit Kumar achieved a super 10 with a bonus point in the 37th minute.

Telugu Titans inflicted the first all-out with less than two minutes to as they trailed 26-30. But it was too little too late as Bengaluru Bulls held on to win an exciting game 30-28. (ANI)
