Nagaland boy to play in major youth football tournament in Sweden

Dimapur (Nagaland), July 8 (ANI): In what will make every Indian sports lovers' chest swell with pride, a Nagaland boy has been selected to play in the Gothia Cup, which is considered as the world's largest youth football tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in Sweden between July 17th and 24th.

Lanvungthung Khuvung was selected by the Real Sports Association as the striker purely on the basis of skill and merit.

Khuvung was first noticed by the association when he was playing in an under-18 match, representing Sagar School, Rajasthan, couple of years back. He was the captain of the squad and was also awarded the man of the match.

Khuvung is a student of Christ University Bangalore and is currently pursuing his Third year BA. (ANI)
