Virat Kohli quashes reports of engagement with Anushka Sharma

New Delhi [India], Dec.30 (ANI): Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has rubbished claims that he is getting engaged to Bollywood actress and girlfriend Anushka Sharma in Uttarakhand on January 1.

Confirming the news via micro blogging website Twitter, the swashbuckling Indian batsman insisted that if he and Anushka decide to get engaged, they would not hide it.

"Since news channels can't resist selling false rumours & keeping you confused, we are just ending the confusion :). we aren't getting engaged & if we were going to, we wouldn't hide it. Simple... ," Kohli said in a series of tweets.

Recently, an article in a local daily had reported that Virat and Anushka are presently residing in Hotel Ananda in Narendra Nagar, Uttarakhand and that the couple would play host to the Bachchans and Kapoors besides industrialist Anil Ambani and his wife Tina Ambani.

As a result, speculations are rife that the couple is going to get engaged on New Year and that the ceremony is likely to take place at Hotel Ananda.

However, Kohli has now put an end to all these rumours with his recent tweet. (ANI)
