India-Australia cyber security, a win-win partnership

New Delhi [India], Nov. 24 (ANI): An Australian cyber security delegation is presently in India to seek partnership with Indian IT companies and provide them with modern cyber security capabilities.

The mission features a six member delegation specialising in cyber security technology and solutions.

The delegation is visiting Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi and includes senior executives from the University of Melbourne, which is amongst Australia's top universities with specialisation in Internet of Things cyber security and the Swinburne University of Technology, which is amongst Australia's leading technology institutions with focus on digital innovation platform for cyber security with applications in Industry 4.0, smart cities, health, digital services, transport, logistics and supply chains.

The delegation will offer the Indian IT industry access to a portfolio of novel Australian cyber security solutions across platforms, networks, smart devices, mobile and online. They will also offer Australian institutions' research expertise in development of the next generation of cyber security technologies and solutions.

According to John Madew, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission, "Australian expertise can help solve cyber security challenges. Many Australian businesses have strong cyber security capabilities developed through home grown Australian technologies and solutions."

Australia has good credentials in terms of innovation and eight of its universities appeared in the top 100 global research university list. That kind of knowledge base can be used in India and other places, said one of the delegation member.

In partnering with India they are looking to scale huge market, something not offered back home because of the population size.

The kind of access Indian companies have is not present with Australian companies and partnering will be a win-win situation as India will get advanced cyber-security capabilities and Australia will get a market.

"Our particular focus is on bringing the physical and digital world together and from a user's perspective that things like physical access control, circuit boards and all those other things being able to talk to one another. So, software hardware and people all are being a part of an ecosystem," said one of the delegation members. (ANI)
