Now, ovary transplants 'that can stop menopause'

   Mar 26, 7:51 pm

London, Mar 26 (ANI): Women worrying about their body clock ticking may be able to halt the menopause and preserve their fertility.

Doctors have found ovary transplants can remain effective for at least seven years.

Three women, who have already received transplants, have given birth to seven children, with one expecting another baby soon, the Independent reported.

Women may choose to have ovarian tissue stored so they can have it transplanted later.

Gedis Grudzinskas, a consultant gynaecologist in Harley Street, said this offered "insurance for fertility purposes".

The findings will be published in Reproductive Biomedicine Online. (ANI)
