Oz men 'more likely to have secret stash of cash'

Melbourne, May 4 (ANI): Australian men are more inclined towards keeping a secret bank account from their partner - with the being money used for splurging on things that their other half would not like, a new study has suggested.

But women who held a secret account were more likely to utilize it for building up personal savings.

An ING Direct survey revealed that one in five people keep a secret stash of cash from their loved one.

"Women were far more conservative with their secret account, using it as a place for extra saving instead of secret purchases," News.com.au quoted ING Direct's Lisa Claes as saying.

The survey also found that nearly 70 per cent of people hold a joint account with their partner, yet it is more common for men to suggest taking such a step.

Love and trust towards their partner was cited by twice as many men as wo men as being the ground for opening a joint account. (ANI)
