Sex toys advertised in Mother's day catalogue in Sydney shocks shoppers

   May 5, 11:43 am

Adelaide, May 5 (ANI): One of the state's biggest pharmacy chains in Sydney has raised eyebrows by advertising sex toys as Mother's Day gifts.

Next to perfume and make-up in the National Pharmacies' Mother's Day catalogue is an advertisement for a range of "g-spot massagers" and vibrators, as well as horny goat weed, a complementary medicine claimed to be an aphrodisiac.

One Adelaide mum said she was surprised to see the products advertised in the catalogue as Mother's Day gifts.

"As a mother my preference would be some hand-picked flowers from my children for Mother's Day," Adelaide Now quoted the mum as saying.

Australian Family Association spokeswoman Terri Kelleher said she was "very surprised" that a pharmacy would stock and advertise the products.

""I really think it's irresponsible," she said.

However, the advertisement is not in breach of the Australian Association of National Advertisers code of ethics. (ANI)
