'Mommy porn' Fifty Shades sparks baby boom

London, August 1 (ANI): The meteoric success of E L James erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey' is helping mothers to conceive faster, according to pregnancy and parenting websites.

Its phenomenon is predicted to be seen in the delivery room after online forums, like that of the popular website Baby Center, which have been teeming with mothers' revitalised sex stories - thanks to the racy book.

"Reading 50 Shades of Grey is acting like an aphrodisiac for women," the Daily Mail quoted Linda Murray, global editor in chief of Baby Center , as telling 'Good Morning America.'

"It's putting them in the mood more frequently and they're having more sex and they're ultimately getting pregnant faster," she said.

One of the best-selling book series off all time, the erotic trilogy ' Fifty Shades of Grey,' 'Fifty Shades Darker,' and 'Fifty Shades Freed,' by British author E L James has sold 20 million books in the last four months alone.

The novels' plot, revolving around the explicitly detailed relationship between the protagonists, businessman Christian Grey and college senior Anastasia Steele's sadomasochistic sexual encounters, is said to have sparked a "mommy porn" revolution.

"It was kind of erotic and sensual and loving and compassionate all at the same time, which kind of got my insides going, I guess," one Baby Centre user wrote.

Carly and Leroy Gibson of Spokane, Washington, said that after spending 14 months trying to have another child, all the sexy had been taken out of sex.

"I think the fun was taken out of it at that point in time because you're like, 'Okay, here it is. Day 14. We've got five days to go. Go strong. I don't care if you're tired...it's time to go to work'," Carly said.

After she began reading the explicit novel, her husband Leroy said that he noticed a change in his wife.

"She just put down the book and she was all over me. It was nice and enjoyable," he said.

Another couple, Scott and Danielle Olszewski, from New York City said that conceiving their third baby was proving difficult after their first two pregnancies happened with relative ease.

"I wanted that one more and I was sad. Then Christian Grey entered my life," Danielle said. (ANI)
