Men let women rule when it comes to picking clothes
Aug 7, 2:15 pm
London, August 7 (ANI): Most women take control of their partners' wardrobe in a bid to stop them committing fashion crimes, a new survey has revealed. More than 37 per cent of men in a relationship don't buy any of their own clothing, while 48 per cent are completely clueless as to their own clothes size.As for those men who buy clothes for themselves, 26 per cent admitted that they would do so only when their existing wardrobe was too worn to wear and would then purchase items based purely on price rather than appearance. The poll of 2,000 women aged 50 and over by mature online retailer isme.com found that the average man had totally given up on caring about his appearance by the age of 37, the Daily Mail reported. As a result, nearly 59 per cent of women admitted that they felt forced to intervene and style their man because their partners' dress sense was either outdated and ageing (18 per cent), unstylish and ill-fitting (31 per cent) or just plain embarrassing (19 per cent). The ladies, who were questioned revealed that they'd love to see their men emulate the style of dapper celebrities like
George Clooney and Hugh Grant but instead when left to their own devices, their partners end up looking more like Jeremy Clarkson
.Meanwhile Julie Donnelly from isme.com said that men could achieve the dashing Clooney look of their women's dreams if only they made a bit more effort. "Men are totally capable of dressing themselves. As long as an outfit fits properly, clothes look fresh and crease-free, and an outfit is put together with a bit of care, it can still look good," she said. The women also enlisted few crimes against fashion most commonly committed by men. 1. Jeans that are too baggy, high-waisted and ankle grazing, or worst of all, worn with a matching denim waistcoat2. Pants that are too old-fashioned or too small3. Scandalously brief swimwear4. Colourless combos of dull shades of brown and beige5. Sandals worn with socks6. Shell suits7. 'Mutton dressed as ram' - overly-youthful hoodies and T-shirts8. Out-dated or too loud patterned shirts (ANI)
