Earthquake reported in Gilgit area of Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar. 12 (ANI): A earthquake has been reported in Kashmir with the epicenter being in the Gilgit area, 144 kilometers north-west of Kashmir.

Experts and geologists have said that the earthquake measured 5.6 to 5.8 on the Richter Scale, and lasted for about two to three seconds.

Media reports said that the earthquake occurred at around 11.36 a.m., and added that residents of the region rushed out of their homes on feeling the tremors.
