BJP finds no resonance in Dinesh Trivedi's Railway Budget poetry

   Mar 14, 3:49 pm

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday made fun of the poetry used by Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi during the presentation of the Railway Budget for 2012-2013.

"Shatrughan Sinhaji ( BJP leader and actor) who is an expert told me that Trivedi had broken the leg of the Urdu language through his poetry. Now, even eminent poets will forget their poetry," said Sinha mockingly.

Trivedi had earlier in the day used some poetic phrases during the presentation of the Railway Budget.

Sinha, who was the Finance Minister of the country during the NDA regime, also raised objections over the decision to increase railway freight hike a week before the presentation of the Railway Budget

"Rail Minister increased freight rates a week before the presentation of the railway budget. This had never happened before. There is sanctity of the Parliament. Rail Minister increases freight, but does not even mention it in the Rail Budget, this is strange," he added.

Sinha, however, agreed with Trivedi on the security aspect, saying the biggest issue before the railways in today's time is of protection.

Trivedi in his Railway Budget presented earlier in the day said the security of passengers has been of prime concern to Indian Railways.

The Railway Ministry has proposed to complete the installation of Integrated Security System at all the 202 identified stations during 2012-13.

Additionally, escorting of trains by RPF/GRP has been extended to almost 3500 trains.

It is also proposed to integrate the RPF helpline with the All India Passenger helpline to facilitate much faster response to the security needs of passengers. (ANI)
