Rahul Gandhi visits drought-hit Satara, assures all assistance

   Apr 28, 12:18 pm

Satara, Apr 28 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi visited the drought-hit regions in Mumbai's Satara District on Saturday, and assured the locals that the government would come up with a proper solution to help them get rid of all their problems.

"I will try to solve the issue concerning water," Gandhi told the villagers here.

Meanwhile, a local here appeared to be satisfied with Gandhi's assurances.

"Rahulji cam here and listened to all our problems. But how many demands of ours are fulfilled, only he knows that. He told us to share our problems with him. We want results. There is dearth here all the time, we believe that he will fulfill the promise of bringing the water from outside," he said.

Satara is among the worst drought-hit districts in the state.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who had visited the drought-hit areas last month, also accompanied Gandhi during his visit here. (ANI)
