Thiruvananthapuram, May 29 (ANI): Kerala's Home Minister, T. Radhakrishnan, on Tuesday said that the state government would set up a special investigation team to inquire into Communist leader M. M. Mani's brazen comments about political murders.Mani had claimed that in 1982, 13 Congress Party activists were killed by CPI-M cadres at Shantampara and Rajakkad region due to political rivalry.Describing Mani's comments as a confession, Radhakrishnan said: "This deposition is equal to the confession of a top leader from Marxist party. So we will look into it. We will have to look into details because he is telling the old stories." If that happened it will be a very serious matter. We have already constituted a top level special investigation team and that team will look into the details," Radhakrishnan told media here. The Kerala government, however, sought the opinion of legal luminaries before filing a case against Mani."We got all the legal opinions from top officers. We sought opinion of the advocate general and legal luminaries. They all opined that we should continue the case. We should register a case and we are abiding by the decision of legal luminaries," added Radhakrishnan. (ANI)
