Jun 3, 5:58 pm
New Delhi, June 3 (ANI): Asserting that the second war of independence has begun, veteran social activist Anna Hazare on Sunday said that his fight against corruption will continue till his last breath.Hazare also emphasized the need for development, saying it is necessary to bring about desired changes. He, however, said development based on exploitation was not correct.Urging the younger generation to rise to the occasion, Hazare said sacrifices have to be made in the past to achieve a great goal."The whole country is my family. I do not even know the names of my brother's children. I do not ask anyone to emulate me," Hazare told the gathering at the Parliament Street here during his daylong joint fast with yoga guru Baba Ramdev."We are talking of changing the country; that is not impossible.
I will fight till the end. Be part of a larger family and give a few hours to social service. Words will not suffice. Words have to match deeds," he added.Hazare had earlier this morning said that their movement seeks to spread further awareness about graft, and added, that people having common ideologies, would congregate under one roof to intensify their fight."Today, we will tell the nations how we are going to carry forward our anti-graft movement and its direction, how we are going to get together and fight to root out corruption all day. This is what is going to be discussed all day," said Hazare."Until now, people are agitating separately against corruption, but now people with similar ideologies and thinking will congregate and fight against this issue together," he added, while indirectly issuing a stern warning to the UPA Government.Hazare further urged the masses from across the national socio-political spectrum to support the anti-corruption agenda with fervour and enthusiasm.Hazare, who has so far been at loggerheads with the UPA Government over a strong Lokpal Bill, further said that he would he would announce the date of his nationwide mass movement against graft after discussions with his associates.Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare began their daylong fast against corruption at the Parliament Street here earlier this morning against corruption and for their demand for a stronger Lokpal Bill. This is for the first time that Baba Ramdev and Hazare are sitting on a joint fast.
