Sonia Gandhi asked to decide on nominee for president

New Delhi, June 4 (ANI): The Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Monday asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to decide on who will be the UPA's candidate for president and vice-president.

Finance Minister and senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee moved a resolutuion that authorised Sonia Gandhi to speak with UPA leaders and decide who would be the candidates occupying these two posts once they are vacated on July 24 and August 10 respectively.

Current President Pratibha Devisingh Patil ends her five year tenure in Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 24, 2012, while Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari ends his tenure on August 10, 2012.(ANI)
