PM "blindfolded," says Manish Sisodia

   Jun 10, 6:44 pm

Ghaziabad, June 10 (ANI): Team Anna member Manish Sisodia on Sunday accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of being ignorant to corruption and inflation, calling him "blindfolded", while extending support to fellow activist Kiran Bedi.

"Corruption is on the rise everywhere, the common man is troubled with inflation, and the Prime Minister says that everything is all right. If Kiran Bedi says the Prime Minister is blindfolded, what is wrong in that? Corrupt ministers are being exposed, each scam larger than the one before it, but the Prime Minister says nothing is wrong. Is any more proof needed to say that he is blindfolded?" Sisodia said.

The activist also reacted sharply to Prime Minister 's Office's (PMO) rejection of constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged corruption in the allocation of coal blocks by the government, accusing it of a dictatorial stance towards its detractors.

"You (the government) have refused the demand for an SIT enquiry, you have certified yourself as honest. If the people of the country say anything against you, you brand them as anti-national. Is this a democracy or a dictatorship?" he said.

Earlier, Minister of State in the PMO V Narayanasamy had ruled out a SIT enquiry, while slamming the activists for questioning the PM's credibility and branding them as 'anti-national'. (ANI)
