BJP slams Congress, accuses it of "unconstitutional" vote-bank politics
Jun 13, 6:55 pm
New Delhi, June 13 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) President Nitin Gadkari
on Wednesday accused the ruling Congress Party of indulging in "unconstitutional" vote bank politics, and misleading the socially underprivileged classes. Gadkari, however, backed the Supreme Court's decision not to stay the Andhra Pradesh High Court's verdict quashing 4.5 percent sub-quota for minorities within 27 percent reservation for Other Backward Castes (OBC)."Congress Party is indulging in unconstitutional vote bank politics by adopting the 4.5 percent minority reservation. At times they spoke about nine percent quota and other political parties also advocated 14 and 18 percent reservation. They have deliberately tried to mislead the socially underprivileged class," he said.Gadkari supported the comments made by Azim Premji and N R Narayana Murthy that called the ruling government indecisive, and added that the Congress Party had failed to deliver in all the socio-economic spheres."The viewpoints that he (Azim Premji) has expressed about the ruling Congress party are sad but true. The entire country now feels the same that this government lacks the zeal to take decisive actions. The economic situation of the country is worrisome," he said. (ANI)
