Lightning kills five in Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 14 (ANI): Five persons, including a woman and two children died while three were injured when lightning struck them at different places in Dumka, Jharkhand.Hemant Toppo, Superintendent of Police, said three persons were killed at Raksha when they were hit by lightning while standing under a tree after a brief spell of rain. He further added that two others lost their lives at Bailidhab and Khirghana due to thunderbolt while they were working in their fields.
Lightning claims 50-60 lives every year in Jharkhand. (ANI)
