Yeddyurappa's bail plea to come up before Karnataka High Court

Bengaluru, June 14 (ANI): The Karnataka High Court
will hear the anticipatory bail petition of former state chief minister and co-accused in the illegal mining scam, B.S. Yeddyurappa, here on Thursday.A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court had rejected the petition on Wednesday, claiming that it would hamper the ongoing investigations against Yeddyurappa.Justice DR Venkata Sudarshan of the CBI court also dismissed anticipatory bail petitions of Yeddyurappa's sons BY Raghavendra and BY Vijayendra, and son-in-law RN Sohan Kumar.The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had on Wednesday sought permission from the CBI court to question mining baron and former Karnataka minister G Janardhan Reddy on illegal mining. Reddy is currently lodged in Bangalore Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara on the city outskirts.
Yeddyurappa was forced to quit from his post of state chief after the Lokayukta report indicted him in the illegal mining scam and also for his alleged role in irregularities in allotment of prime land to his own kith and kin. (ANI)
