Lawyers vandalise e-governance office in Ajmer

   Jul 6, 8:39 pm

Ajmer, July 6 (ANI): Lawyers in Ajmer vandalised an e-governance office here on Friday, claiming that rampant corruption prevailed in the department.

A group of irate lawyers entered the premises of the office and damaged furniture, windowpanes, computers and documents.

Speaking to mediapersons, Devendra Singh, a member of the Ajmer Bar Association said that the lawyers were infuriated after the staff at the e-governance office ill-treated and roughed up a fellow lawyer.

"Vandalism is natural. Even if somebody has done it, then I do not know who has done it. If 10 workers beat a lawyer, then what should 100 lawyers do? We have not broken any law, and this I can guarantee you," Singh said.

A contingent of Rajasthan Police arrived on the spot and brought the situation under control.

An inquiry has been launched to ascertain the cause and effects of the incident. (ANI)
