President Patil wants government to take follow up action on farmer-industry partnership

New Delhi, July 13 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, called on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Friday during which the two leaders discussed about the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament and various other issues of national and international importance.

President Patil broadly discussed about the recommendations of the Governors' Committee on enhancing productivity, profitability and sustainability of rain-fed/dry-land farming with special reference to farmer - industry partnership and explained the need for expeditious follow up action on them during the meeting, which lasted for about half an hour.
