New Delhi/ Mumbai, July 15 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced that it would decide on it's vice presidential candidate
after a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Monday.Interacting with mediapersons here on Sunday,
BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "As of now the NDA has not decided about the vice presidential elections nor discussed it. We will talk about it soon. Undoubtedly, we will decide about our role in the elections and who would be our nominee soon after the meeting."Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut said in Mumbai that his party would put forth their views about the elections at Monday's NDA meeting.He added that the Sena's support for UPA's candidate for the presidential elections was only for Pranab Mukherjee as a person, and not for the Congress Party as a whole."Whoever will be the NDA candidate for the vice presidential elections, we will support him or her. There is no politics in our support towards Mukherjee in the presidential elections. We supported Mukherjee as a person, not the Congress party or Sonia Gandhi. Pranab Mukherjee is a stalwart of our political spectrum and if he becomes the president then surely our country would benefit," Raut said.On, the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) nominated Mohammed Hamid Ansari as its candidate for the August 7 vice presidential election.Ansari's term as Vice President ends on August 10.
