Ex-Microsoft executive calls firm 'huge tech-wasteland'
Jul 5, 12:13 pm
New York, July 5 (ANI): A former Microsoft executive has described the software giant, as a 'huge tech-wasteland,' according to a report.Kurt Massey called the firm an atrophying hulk of an American icon not unlike the Sears department store chain."I see Microsoft as technology's answer to Sears," Massey, said in an interview that will hit newsstands next week."In the 40s, 50s, and 60s, Sears had it nailed. It was top-notch, but now it's just a barren
wasteland. And that's Microsoft," The New York Post quoted Massey, as saying."The company just isn't cool anymore," he added.According to the paper, the gist of Kurt's report, culled from internal e-mails, documents and insiders, faults the company for slipping as Apple rose. The report pointed out that Apple
now registers more annual revenue from its iPhone than all of Microsoft's products combined.'It didn't have to be that way,' said some of the former employees, who argued that management missed the e-reader and tablet trend because 'unimaginative executives' were anchored to Windows and Office, products that are best used with a keyboard and not a touchscreen.
