Anand Sharma to assess industrial scenario with captains of industry

New Delhi, Aug 11 (ANI): Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma will hold stakeholder consultations next week in the light of recent IIP figures and the evolving industrial situation.

Sharma is regularly reviewing the situation with the senior officials and has expressed concern over the drop in industrial performance in recent months.

Sharma will first meet the industry chambers like FICCI and CII along with FIEO.

He has also called a meeting of the Government-Industry Task force to review the situation and suggest remedial measures.

The Task Force is the established mechanism of obtaining inputs from the captains of the industry in the policy making process.

Earlier, Sharma met Finance Minister P Chidambaram and discussed the important issues faced by the economy. (ANI)
