US Deputy Secretary of State Burns to visit India, Vietnam, Malaysia

Washington/New Delhi, Dec.10 (ANI): United States Deputy Secretary of State William Burns will depart from Washington today for visits to India and South East Asia.

In New Delhi, he will meet with senior government officials to discuss a broad range of bilateral, regional and global issues, underscoring the continued growth in the strategic partnership.

Burns will also visit Mumbai for meetings with business leaders. He will join American Consulate General employees for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new facility as well.

On December 13, Burns will travel to Vietnamese capital Hanoi for meetings with that country's leadership on developing their strategic relationship, including economic cooperation, people-to-people ties, and human rights concerns.

Burns thereafter travels to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 14, where he will meet with a range of senior officials and other Malaysian opinionakers.

His visit reflects the United States commitment to strengthening its cooperative partnership with Malaysia. (ANI)
