Booze and sex ban slapped on US Secret Service agents in wake of Colombia sex scandal

Washington, Apr 28 (ANI): The U.S. Secret Service has issued a new code of conduct for its officers that bans them from heavy drinking and visiting to "non-reputable establishments" amid investigations into the Colombian sex scandal.

The new regulations included a ban on drinking within 10 hours of reporting for duty, along with an order that off-duty agents can only drink 'in moderate amounts', the New York Daily News reports.

"Foreign nationals, excluding hotel staff and official law enforcement counterparts, are prohibited from your hotel room," the new rulebook stated.

"All employees have a continuing obligation to confront expected abuses or perceived misconduct," the agency said in a two-page memo.

"Laws of the United States shall apply to Secret Service personnel while abroad," the memo added.

According to the report, Secret Service also revealed the name of agent at the center of the Colombian sex scandal.

Arthur Huntington, 41, from Maryland, had stiffed a Colombian hooker, paying just 28 dollars of his 800 dollars tab.

The probe into the agency's booze-and-hookers antics will also include trips involving ex-President Bill Clinton to Moscow in 2000 and Buenos Aires in 2009. (ANI)
