Strauss-Kahn dismisses prostitute's gang rape claims as 'public lynching campaign'.
May 5, 11:20 am
Paris, May 5 (ANI): Shamed former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has denied a prostitute's allegations that he along with three other men held her down and forced her to have sex.The Belgian prostitute had claimed that she was assaulted at Washington's W Hotel in December 2010, while Strauss-Kahn was still director of the IMF.But Strauss-Kahn, via his lawyers, denied any violence and said he's the subject of a public ' lynching campaign
,' news.com.au reports."Strauss-Kahn absolutely contests having committed the slightest violence of any nature, and notes that the declarations made by the young women are contradictory," his French lawyers Frederique Beaulieu and Richard Malka said. The alleged 'gang rape' is set to form vital evidence in the 'Carlton Affair', an investigation into a prostitute ring working out of the Carlton Hotel in Lille, eastern France.French daily Liberation reported that two Belgian prostitutes questioned in the Lille probe described Strauss-Kahn as using violence during sex at the hotel and forcing one of them to have anal sex despite her protests."Strauss-Kahn used force, he held down my hands, he pulled my hair, he hurt me," leaked transcripts of witness testimony to Belgian police cited one of the prostitutes, as saying.According to the report, Strauss-Kahn's lawyers noted that the accusations surfaced two days before France's presidential elections.
Strauss-Kahn has reportedly said the sex-related accusations against him were part of an effort to discredit him and keep him out of France's presidential race. (ANI)
