Pranab meets Hasina, discusses bilateral trade

Dhaka, May 6(ANI): Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina here on Sunday.

Bilateral issues, including ways to enhance two-way trade were reportedly discussed in the meeting.

Mukherjee arrived in Dhaka on Saturday to participate in the concluding ceremony of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Nobel Literature Prize winner poet, Rabindranath Tagore.

He is also scheduled to meet opposition leader Khaleda Zia later on Sunday.

Mukherjee's visit is likely to provide an impetus to bilateral relations, but according to media reports, the Indian Government seems to have no expectations about the Teesta agreement. By Mrityunjay Singh (ANI)
