Gorbachev laughs off Twitter death rumours

Moscow, May 23 (ANI): Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev has laughed off Twitter comments announcing his death.

According to the Daily Mail, Gorbachev said that 'Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.'

Laughing at the premature obituaries, Gorbachev said: 'It's interesting what people are writing. Tell them that I keep living - and keep working.'

Gorbachev's aides, however, insisted that he was fine and in great health. ne theory last night said that the rumours started after a man with the same name was found dead near St Petersburg.

It was also reported in Moscow that Gorbachev was in hospital, but not with a severe condition.

He aide Vladimir Polyakov said: 'Who started it? I was told it went on Twitter, but no one could say where the first Tweet came from.' (ANI)
