Mubarak issued prison uniform after official mug shot in jail

   Jun 4, 10:37 am

Cairo, June 4 (ANI): Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has been issued a blue prison uniform after being sentenced to life for his role in the killing of hundreds of protestors during last year's uprising.

According to the state-run media, guards in the Cairo Tora prison took his official jail photograph and supplied him with his prisoner number.

Prison authorities turned down Mubarak's request to continue receiving treatment from doctors at a military hospital where he was detained earlier, News 24 reports.

Mubarak, 84, who reportedly has a heart condition, is being kept in the prison's medical wing.

Security officials and state television recently reported that Mubarak suffered a 'health crisis' on arrival by helicopter at the prison after sentencing.

One state media report said it was a heart attack, but that could not immediately be confirmed. (ANI)
